Regular vs feminised.

The difference between regular and feminised seeds.

Regular seeds.

Regular seeds are produced the natural way. A female plant gets pollinated by a male plant. The white pistels of a female plant are the receivers of the male pollen. As soon as it is pollinated it pulls back into the calyx and starts forming a seed. It will take 4 to 6 weeks for the seeds te get mature. This way cannabis has been growing for ages.

Seeds produced this way will be regular and produce around 50% female and 50% male plants.

Feminised seeds

Feminised seeds are produced in a special way. By stressing out a female plant it will be forced to produce male flowers. When these flowers pollinate a non stressed female plant this plant will produce feminised seeds. Simply because all the genes involved in this proces are female. The advantages are clear, no more males to pull out. The special way of creating these seeds makes them much more expensive however.

Stressing out a female plant to produce male flowers can be done in many ways. Most used way today is by a chemical containing silver.

Critics say that this proces triggers a hermafrodite characteristic within the genes of the plant and that this characteristic will be given onto the next generation when breeding. There is no 100% proof of this but here at RebelSeeds.nl we favor regular seeds for breeding because of this. Having 1 hermafrodite in your grow room can mess up your entire crop.

We do have feminised seeds in our shop however. These seeds are produced by stressing out regular plants (non feminised) and these seeds should only be used to grow cannabis. Not for breeding cannabis.
